Project Description
RUSCHCUTTERS BAY – WARATAH STREET
This turn of the century apartment was a fun project waiting to happen. The client and I collaborated to create a fit-out that was stylish and contemporary while remaining sympathetic to the existing Art Deco features. The brief for the two bedroom apartment was to design and incorporate a modern kitchen that was functional, aesthetically pleasing and timeless. The bathroom was to be designed around the existing constraints however we wanted to create a feeling of luxury where new age meets old world.
The apartment showcases one off and custom pieces that are near and dear to the clients’ hearts and it’s these touches that make the space feel special. The Serge Mouille pendant is featured in the living spac, the bathroom features vintage brass wall lights imported from the US and the kitchen is completed with a custom made Italian Barazza stainless steel cooktop and bench.
Apartment renovations are always a challenge due to existing parameters however this project displayed careful consideration to provide function and form in unity. Both are essential create a place that we call home.
